The Pen Body
Finishes for the pen body are determined by the material used and the desired look and feel. Addtionally, I use a multiple step sanding/buffing/polishing process for all the materials to bring out finest details in each piece. While the technique is difficult to master and can be very time consuming, I feel it provides the best possible finish in terms of durability and aesthetics. Unlike a piece of furniture your hand remains in constant contact with your writing instrument. Dirt and oils from your hands will wear through a typical finish and begin to darken the wood giving it a dirty dingy look over time.
